Colorado mountain climbing with Jordan! |

My family! |
My name is Karen Harvey, follower of Jesus Christ. I am a 2014 graduate of Hope College in Holland, MI with a major in psychology and a minor in ministry, transplanted to the beautiful Lake Michigan from the mountains of Washington State. I have two parents and a younger brother whom I adore and come from a great town near Seattle. Grand Junction, Colorado is another place that I consider home after an awesome summer internship. I love being with people, worshipping Jesus, card making, hiking, and being outdoors. My all time favorite movie is the Sound of Music and right now some of my favorite artists are Josh Garrels, All Sons & Daughters, and Bethel.

I love my Hope community! |
My years at Hope have been fundamental in shaping me into the woman that I am. I have been incredibly privileged to receive my education in a place where the name of Jesus is spoken and praised frequently. I have had amazing professors, experiences and friends, all pointing me to an amazing God. I've grown in my relationship with God here more than I ever thought I could. I've learned what truly making Him the Lord of my life means, and the trials and joyous adventures that come with being a follower of Jesus. I've traveled around the States, to Kenya, New Zealand, and China. One of the highlights of my college career has been seeing God doing His changing work in my life and in the lives of my friends and classmates here at Hope. I've been part of a community that loves me and is for me and points me more towards Jesus. Truly, truly, a blessing. All glory to God.

One of the sweet kiddos I got to work with in Kenya |
I have had a heart for the injustice in the world from a young age, that has grown as I have learned more about God's heart for the people of this world. Every human is worthy of dignity and hope. God has called me to Thailand for the year of 2015 to serve with NightLight International. I am excited to see what He has for me there!
